Spring/Summer 2021 Preview by Sierra Carroll

Spring/Summer 2021 Preview by Sierra Carroll

And just like that, Spring is right around the corner!

With every season, there’s always new trends to look forward to, and here at Grrly Grrls we have plenty of new arrivals to keep your closet looking fresh for the warmer weather.

Rib knit, bras and bustiers, voluminous sleeves, chains and oversized blazers are some trends to look out for this upcoming season.

Below, we have some pieces from our shop that are inspired from the recent runway shows.

Rib Knit

Rib knit was a trend that many luxury brands debuted for the Spring and Summer season. No.21, Altuzarra and Ami all designed unique pieces with this textile. Our Knitted Skinny Button Dress is a great dupe of the nude pencil skirt that No.21 made. Our Knitted Bodycon Maxi Dress fits the chic rib knit dresses that Ami and Boss both incorporated into their collections. If you’re looking for something a little more casual but just as trendy, our Cashmere Square Collar Knitted Sweater has the rib knit style with the popular corset bodice that we’re seeing everywhere at the moment.

Bras and Bustiers

Bra and bustier tops are the latest trends that seem to be popping up all over social media. Models like Bella Hadid have been seen wearing these pieces while out and about, so it’s no shock that we’d see this trend in the latest fashion shows. Jacquemus displayed a simple and strappy bra top, similar to our Criss Cross Strap Crop Top, that can be paired with anything in your closet. Then, luxury designers Gabriela Hearst and Altuzarra both designed black bustiers, similar to our Satin Bustier Crop Top

Voluminous Sleeves

Big, voluminous sleeves were something that we saw in last season’s runway, but the fact that it’s carrying on into Spring and Summer shows just how impactful this trend has been. Jacquemus and Philosophy di Lorenzo Serafini both designed pieces with huge balloon sleeves, similar to our Retro Long Sleeve Puff Blouse. Carolina Herrera showed off a dramatic mesh sleeve piece, with our Patchwork Lace Puff Sleeve Blouse being a great dupe. Dramatic, ruched sleeves was another trend we saw from Isabel Marant, and our Vintage Ruffle Collar Shirt is a great alternative to what we saw on the runway.

Chains

Just like voluminous sleeves, the chain trend was another thing we saw being carried into the next season. Saint Laurent had a few of their models wear long chain necklaces, like our Pearl Rhinestone Long Chain Necklace. Bags with chain accents was also something we saw last season, and Versace displayed a black bag with a chain, similar to our Retro Chain Flap Handbag. Louis Vuitton and Victoria Beckham sent out a few of their models wearing chunky chain necklaces, similar to the Chunky Cuban Choker Necklace in our shop.

Strong Shoulders

Oversized blazers are the perfect statement piece to throw on. They ooze cool and sophisticated, and can match pretty much any piece in your wardrobe. Our Sateen V Neck Blazer is very similar to the oversized blazer that we saw from The Label Edition. It’s simple, yet chic and serves cool girl realness. Adding to the cool factor, Miu Miu and Versace debuted their own black blazers similar to the PU Leather Blazer. These types of oversized blazers have been all over social media after models like Kendall Jenner have been seen wearing them around on her days off. These blazers have been the center of the Model Off Duty aesthetic.
